Profoundly Modest Observations

Whenever government proposes to step in and solve a problem, the first premise is always that the government has never stepped into this area before and therefore could not possibly share any part of the blame for the problem that it proposes to solve--let alone be primarily responsible for the problem.

Laws passed for our own good are instruments of complacent righteousness ready to be overwhelmed by tidal waves of unintended consequences.
